A perfect match! Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss will are joining forces once again for a few more dates on their shared tour this summer! After the hype and success of the last two tours, they are coming to Greek Theatre Berkeley on Thursday 23rd July 2015!
The tour will mark the second time that Willie Nelson and Family & Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas have shared the stage together. The two groups' are following up on the immense success and enjoyment of their 2014 tour, during which their unique personalities combined with impeccable musicianship and decades of award-winning songs helped create a show full of unforgettable moments. Alison Krauss's voice has often been described as 'angelic', her tone gives you a warming and reassuring, feel good feeling, staying true to her bluegrass and country roots.
Krauss joined the band Union Station, with whom she would release albums like Now That I've Found You, Lonely Runs Both Ways and Paper Airplane. At age 21, she became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Krauss has earned more than 25 Grammy Awards over her extensive career, including six awards for her collaboration with former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, Raising Sand (2007).
Willie Nelson leads a very musical filled exciting life, his style is very versatile, eclectic and rather wanderlust, known for his classic ballads "Always On My Mind" and "On The Road Again". Nelson has written some of the most popular country songs of all time, including the hit song "Crazy." He is recognized worldwide as an American troubadour and icon, transcended musical genres and has remained relevant through five decades for his music, acting and as the face of such social causes as Farm Aid. Always experimenting, Nelson continues to try out new types of material. In 2005, he released Countryman, which incorporated elements of reggae. Nelson released Moment of Forever in 2008, which garnered much critical praise. He also scored a Grammy that same year for the single "Lost Highway," another of his collaborations with Ray Price.
