Greek Theater Berkeley is located on the UC Berkeley campus and is one of the most iconic venues in the city. The same goes for Mac DeMarco and crew as he takes on his 2025 Mac DeMarco Tour, coming to the Oakland area on Friday, September 19th. And Mac won’t only be playing here this Autumn - he’s hitting over thirty stops on his tour this time around. Playing in venues like The Apollo in London, Fallan in Stockholm, the Roadrunner in Boston, the Grand Lodge in Oregon, and of course - right here in Greek Theatre Berkeley for all of our listening pleasure.

Mac is no secret to any Indie lovers playlist or to anyone who was around during the late 2010s pop culture era. It felt like he came out of nowhere - getting cosigns from the greats in all musical genres, appearing on Late Night​​ Talk Show circuits, multiple awards and nominations - it’s hard to believe that his career started almost two decades ago from his hometown in B.C. Canada. He taught himself to play guitar in Jr.High, and opted to play in as many bands as he could at the time. He loved band life aesthetic as well - smoking cigarettes and playing at dirty basement shows whenever the opportunity presented itself. After moving to Vancouver and a sold out first EP, Heat Wave, Mac was on his way to stardom. Then, Salad Days dropped in 2014 - and the rest was history. At the time, an indie upcomer who was setting the next wave, and now - a certified legend who gets his due whenever he chooses to perform.  Mac’s use of flat drums, subtle soundscapes and off-kilter pop melodies is what has made him so popular throughout the years, and his 2025 tour is only a testament to his long staying power. He’s probably your favorite newcomer’s favorite artist, so… enough said.
