Lauv adopted his stage name from his mother’s heritage and translated it means Lion which is significant because it also shows how he roars the stage to life with his voice. Lauv has always been in the music industry, starting off his career by co-writing and co-producing songs for artists such as Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato in their hit “No Promises”.

Alexander 23 and Lauv have an amazing history and have actually performed together in 2023. Alexander 23 is an amazing artist that has opened for many artists including Alec Benjamin in 2019 and Jon Mayer in 2022 as well.

In 2014 Lauv released “The other” as the first song under this stage name, thus creating his signature stripped-down electronic pop sound. In 2017 he released “I like Me Better” which peaked in the top 10 of the billboards top 100 and it also earned him platinum certification. As of 2024 this hit has over 1.7 billion streams on Spotify and is constantly growing.

After the recognition form this he went on to headline his own tour in 2018 which he performed in 8 cities in the United States. In 2018 he also released “I Met You When I Was 18” the playlist, which he gradually added old and new music showcasing his move to New York City and the first time he fell in love.
