British indie rock band Florence + The Machine formed in 2007 out of the collaboration of lead singer Florence Welch and keyboardist/producer Isabella “Machine” Summers. The duo performed together for a time under the name Florence Robot/Isa Machine, and the name soon amalgamated to become what it is today. The band's debut album Lungs was released in 2009, peaking at number one in the UK and also in the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. Florence and the Machine won the MasterCard British Album award for Lungs at the 2010 BRIT Awards, having also been nominated for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. The group's second studio album, Ceremonials, released in October 2011, entered the charts at number one in the UK and number six in the US, and their third album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was released on 2nd June 2015.
