The Marias, the So-Cal pop band who have a passion for intimate lyrics, immersive soundscapes, and life changing visuals are coming to Greek Theatre Berkeley for the FIRST time ever, and we are so excited to host them down here at the UC location. Catch them here at Greek Theatre on Sunday July 20th as they take on round 2 of their Submarine Tour (now in its Extended version) for a handful of dates throughout 2025. The sixteen show run will see the Marias hit iconic venues like Chicago’s Lollapalooza, The Armory in Minneapolis, The Theater of Clouds in Portland, Moody Amphitheater in Austin, Red Rocks in Colorado, and of course - right here in Berkley on July 20.
Formed in Los Angeles but with major international influence, Maria Zardoya, the lead singer for whom the band is named after, was born in Atlanta and is of Puerto Rican descent. She effortlessly weaves Spanish and English into all of her lyrics, and part of The Marias insanely quick rise to stardom comes from not only her encapsulating voice - but also the obvious bond shared between all of the crew. And this bond has taken them to heights of musical stardom all across the world - they just had a smash hit performance at Coachella back in April, late night talk show performances, collaborations with Selena Gomez Phoebe Bridges and Bad Bunny, and a top 20 album debut on the BIllboard 200 with their latest record, Submarine, when it came out last summer. From a lo-fi indie pop band to worldwide superstars, we can only guess what the crew has in store for us next as they continue reaching for the upper echelons of music notoriety. But, we’re so here for it, and wherever that journey leads them to - we also know it’ll include a show right here at Greek Theatre this July!
